Türkiye’s Troy Museum and Ruins draw global attention

Troy Museum Director, Rıdvan Gölcük, has noted that the Trojan Horse, along with the figures ‘Hektor’ and ‘Helen’, are key attractions for visitors at the Troy Ruins and Museum. Despite its history of wars, fires, and earthquakes, the Troy Ruins, a 5,600-year-old civilization and UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site, draw thousands of tourists annually. The Trojan Horse, not mentioned in Homer’s Iliad but introduced in the Odyssey, is the most recognized symbol of Troy and has a widespread presence in everyday life, from politics to economics, making it a focal point of interest for visitors.
