Turkish citizens living in the US state of Virginia paid a visit to the Fairfax Fire Brigade Team, which participated in the search and rescue efforts in Türkiye carried out after the earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş. The Citizens thanked the team by giving flowers and offering baklava, one of the symbols of Turkish cuisine.
“We shared our gratitude with the search and rescue team. We gave them a plaque on behalf of the Turkish community living in America. We also served our baklava and presented our flowers. We presented the tulip, one of the most precious flowers of our country. They also said that they were pleased with our gesture and thanked us. We are very grateful to them,” says Kenan Yusuf, one of the representatives of the Turkish community.
