Turmoil Breaks Out in Iraqi Parliament

Tensions rose among Iranian parliament members who gathered to elect a new president after the dismissal of Parliament Speaker Mohammed Halbusi in November following the decision of the Iraqi Supreme Federal Court. A turmoil broke out between the members in the 3rd round of the voting, which was held after no candidate received the required 166 votes in the first and second rounds of the elections. The session was postponed.
