Two mosques in Turkiye’s Ankara set on fire

Two mosques in the Polatlı district of Ankara, the capital of Turkey, were set on fire in the morning by an unidentified person.

According to the information gathered, the suspect started the fire by igniting the felt at the entrance of the mosque.

The fire was extinguished before it grew any further.

Metin Altay, the imam of one of the mosques said, “The Fire Brigade was on the scene when we arrived. We tried to help them . There was smoke everywhere in the mosque. The door was on fire. Of course, we were saddened by the incident. This is our common area, our national wealth.”

The incident is being investigated by police.
