Thai authorities reported that 2 more construction workers were found in the rubble of the 30-story under-construction building that collapsed in the Chatuchak area of Bangkok due to two major earthquakes in neighboring Myanmar, bringing the death toll to 3.
Search and rescue efforts are ongoing for around 40 missing workers.
Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra, who declared the capital an emergency zone, stated that damage had occurred in many areas and warned that more tremors could occur within 24 hours.
The 7.7 and 7.4 magnitude earthquakes that occurred in the Sagaing city of Myanmar at around 12:50 and 12:18 local time were also felt in China, India, Vietnam and Laos.
