Typhoon Gaemi Hits Taiwan: 3 Dead, 9 Missing from Sunk Cargo Ship

 

Typhoon Gaemi, the most severe typhoon in eight years, struck Taiwan’s Yilan district, causing widespread destruction. Three people died, 266 were injured, and 500,000 households lost power. A Tanzanian-flagged cargo ship sank off Kaohsiung, with nine crew members missing. The typhoon is now heading towards China’s Fujian province, leading to flight cancellations and train service suspensions.
