typhoon hits japan: 300,000 asked to evacuate and one gone missing

Typhoon Lupit has been effective in the western and southern regions of Japan since yesterday. In the coastal provinces of the country, 300,000 people were asked to evacuate their homes. One person went missing in river flooding caused by heavy rainfall in Shimane prefecture. Due to strong winds, the bridge connecting Osaka city and Kansai International Airport was temporarily closed, and 63 flights are cancelled. High-speed train services are partially disrupted.
