Typhoon Khanun Prepares to Hit Northeastern China

China is bracing for Typhoon Khanun, expected in the northeastern provinces soon after recovering from Typhoon Doksuri. Heilongjiang province, a major grain producer, has activated a level-two flood control. Residents in high-risk zones, especially in Jilin’s Shulan County, are being evacuated. Efforts are ongoing to safeguard the crucial autumn crop yield, with a focus on rapid drainage and expert agricultural assistance, particularly in Wuchang City, a key rice-producing region.
