Typhoon Peipah brought strong winds and heavy rainfall to Japan, leaving at least 14,450 households without power and causing property damage in several prefectures, including Shizuoka, Miyazaki, Ibaraki, Aichi, and Ehime. Local authorities reported minor injuries from flying debris and shattered windows.
The storm also disrupted local train services. Japan’s Meteorological Agency warned that Peipah is moving from the Tokai coast toward Kanto and urged residents to prepare for possible flash floods and landslides.
