Typhoon Trami Leaves 7 Dead in China

Typhoon Trami, which has been continuing for 3 days in the southern Chinese province of Hainan, has caused heavy rains and floods.

The provincial emergency management reported that 7 people died in the floods and 1 person was missing. The authorities also reported that 156 people were rescued in operations conducted by air and land in the hardest-hit city of Qionghai.

More than 40,000 people were evacuated to safe areas and the Ministry of Water Resources declared a level 4 emergency response situation.
