The U.S. House of Representatives voted 427–1 to require the Justice Department to release files related to sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, including records on his prison death. The Senate also approved the measure unanimously, sending the bill to President Donald Trump for signature.
The legislation mandates the release of the documents within 30 days, allowing only limited redactions for victim protection or ongoing investigations — not for political sensitivity. Democrats called the vote a major transparency victory. The lone vote against the bill came from Rep. Clay Higgins of Louisiana.
