Ugandan Police Shoots Opposition Politician Bobi Wine in Leg

Opposition politician Bobi Wine, whose real name is Robert Kyagulanyi, was shot in the leg by police during the clash that broke out between demonstrators and police during a protest near Kampala, the capital of Uganda.

The National Unity Platform announced that security forces had “attempted to kill Wine” and that Wine was seriously injured.

Singer and opposition politician Bobi Wine ran for the presidential elections held in Uganda on January 14, 2021 and was arrested before the elections, and violence broke out in the country. More than 50 people lost their lives in the protests. The election was won by Yoweri Museveni, who has been in power for 34 years and Wine claimed that the election was rigged.
