Following the defeat of Rishi Sunak in early general elections, King Charles III accepted Sunak’s resignation at Buckingham Palace. Labour Party Leader Keir Starmer, who secured a landslide victory, was then asked by the King to form a government. Starmer, in his first address as Prime Minister outside 10 Downing Street, pledged to bring about change, restore respect for politics, and unite the country.
