UK Imposes New Sanctions on Russian Oil Giants

Britain has announced fresh sanctions on Russian oil companies Lukoil and Rosneft, along with their partners, to curb Moscow’s wartime revenues. Chancellor Rachel Reeves said the move aims to tighten restrictions on Russian oil exports, declaring, “There is no room for Russia in the global market.”

The measures include asset freezes, bans on British financial services, and sanctions targeting 51 ships and one LNG facility. The Russian Embassy in London condemned the move, claiming it would hurt global energy stability rather than alter Moscow’s foreign policy.
