UK inflation hits highest rate after a decade

The inflation in the UK rose by 4.2% in 2021, The UK’s Office for National Statistics (ONS) announced. The highest increase in prices is seen in energy resources such as electricity, gas and fuel, and according to experts, the inflation is expected to rise to 5% in 2022. People who complained about inflation and worsening living conditions in the UK said that their monthly bills increased almost 4 times compared to the previous year.

The government intends to raise income taxes by 1.2 percent in April 2022. Citizens want the raise on the income tax rate to be fair. “Such raise will harm who earn less. I think it is a bad decision that will affect the people who do the most important jobs during the pandemic, such as those working in the Health Service (NHS) and grocery workers.” a UK citizen said.
