Thousands of nurses, members of the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) union, protest inflation and the cost of living in the UK. They will strike for 12 hours over a period of 2 days and stage a demonstration in front of the hospitals and the Prime Minister’s Office.
Around a quarter of UK hospitals and clinics are expected to be affected by the strike. However, cancer treatments and intensive care will be staffed and continue as part of emergency cover.
The nurses demand a salary increase of 5% above inflation, and have planned further strike action for February 6th and 7th.
