Ukraine Peace Conference Begins in Switzerland

Fifty-seven country leaders and 30 foreign ministers from all around the world arrived in the town of Bürgenstock in the Nidwalden canton of Switzerland to attend the Ukraine Peace Conference, which is the largest meeting held regarding the solution of the Ukraine-Russia war. The conference aims to take the first steps towards the initiation of the ceasefire process, to discuss the paths to a just and lasting peace for Ukraine on the basis of international law and the UN Charter, and to promote common understanding to achieve peace.

In response to Russia not being invited, the Chinese government refused to attend the conference, stating that any peace process should be initiated with the participation of both Russia and Ukraine.
