Ukraine shoots down 2 Russian warplanes in Kyiv and Jitomir

The Ukrainian army shot down 2 Russian warplanes in the capital Kyiv and Jitomir. Ukrainian Chief of Staff Valerii Zaluzhnyi announced that they had shot down 1 Russian warplane in Kyiv and said, “An enemy plane was shot down in an airspace near Kyiv at 21:10.” Another warplane of the Russian Air Force, flying over the Jitomikr-Kyiv highway, was shot down by the Ukrainian army.

Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense announced that 47 planes and 68 helicopters have been shot down since the first day of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
