Ukraine’s Kalush Orchestra sells Eurovision trophy

Following their Eurovision victory, Ukrainian music group Kalush Orchestra decided to donate the crystal microphone they won in the competition. The group’s crystal microphone was auctioned off on Facebook and sold for $900,000. The band made brief statements about the sale while performing at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin, Germany’s capital, at the time of the sale. One of the group’s members, Oleh Psiuk, urged people not to become accustomed to the war, which has killed at least 4,031 civilians and injured 4,735 others, according to United Nations (UN) data.

According to reports, the proceeds of the sale will be used to purchase drones for the Ukrainian army.
