Ukraine’s Power Plants Damaged in Russia’s Attacks

 

Ukraine’s thermal and hydroelectric power plants suffered damage from Russia’s missile and drone attacks, as confirmed by Ukrenergo, the electricity grid operator. The attacks targeted power plants in central and western regions, according to Ukrenergo’s statement. Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmihal noted that Russia targeted energy facilities across multiple regions, emphasizing the need for increased air defense systems to safeguard critical infrastructure and protect citizens. Local sources reported at least one injury in the attack near Dnipro. The Ukrainian army reported destroying 58 drones and neutralizing 26 missiles aimed at Russian energy facilities.
