Ukrainian Forces Claim Partial Control in Russia’s Kursk Region

Ukrainian Chief of General Staff Oleksandr Syrsky announced that Ukrainian forces have gained control of about 1,000 square kilometers in Russia’s Kursk region. The offensive, which began on August 6, continues. Meanwhile, Russia’s Kursk Governor reported that Ukrainian troops have taken control of 28 villages and that 121,000 people have been evacuated, with 59,000 more awaiting evacuation. The conflict has resulted in 12 civilian deaths and 121 injuries.
