Ukrainians gathered at Olympic Stadium in the capital, Kyiv after President Volodymyr Zelensky has declared February 16 as Unity Day for Ukrainians. A giant, 200 meters long National Flag was spread out during the celebration amid escalation on the Ukraine-Russian border. The State Flag of Ukraine raised on houses and buildings, and the National Anthem was played across the country. Sources argued that Russia would launch an invasion on February at the eastern border of Ukraine.
President Zelensky released a video about the Unity Day and said, “Happy Unity Day, great people of the great country. Today is an important day. It is the desire to live happily together in peace that unites us. We are entitled to it because we are in our own country, Ukraine. Only by working together can we protect our home.”
