UNRWA Condemns Attacks on 153 Facilities in Gaza

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) reported that 153 of its facilities were targeted during Israel’s 136-day-long attacks on the Gaza Strip. The agency emphasized the devastating impact on education, stating that schools in the north of Gaza were reduced to rubble. UNRWA stressed the plight of half the population in Rafah, forced to seek refuge in UNRWA shelters. The agency released images depicting the facilities affected by the attacks and strongly asserted that “children should be in our schools for education and training, not to be protected from bombs.” The statement underscores the grave consequences of the ongoing conflict on the education infrastructure and the safety of the civilian population in Gaza.
