UNRWA Highlights Severe Destruction in Gaza

Israel’s attacks on the Gaza Strip have continued for 276 days, causing extensive destruction. Louise Wateridge, senior communications officer for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), shared images of the devastation in Khan Younis. She reported, “As you pass through Khan Younis today, everywhere you look is in ruins. The remaining buildings are hanging by a thread. There are huge craters on the rubble-filled roads, there is little hope for those left here.”

Wateridge further noted that “houses, schools, hospitals, and infrastructure have turned into rubble.” According to UNRWA, around 190 facilities have been affected by the attacks, with at least 520 Palestinians who were sheltering in these facilities having lost their lives.
