US Airstrike Kills Two in Anti-Drug Operation in Eastern Pacific

US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth announced that two people were killed in a US airstrike targeting a drug-smuggling vessel in the Eastern Pacific Ocean. Ordered by President Donald Trump, the strike is part of Washington’s ongoing campaign against international narcotics trafficking. Hegseth said the vessel was linked to a terrorist-designated drug cartel and used a known smuggling route.

He shared footage of the attack, warning, “We will find and strike any vessel that aims to poison our people.” This marks the 16th US airstrike against drug operations in international waters since September, with at least 66 people killed.
