An official funeral ceremony was held for the 39th US President Jimmy Carter, who passed away on December 30th, at the Washington National Cathedral in the US capital, Washington, DC. Following the ceremony, attended by top officials such as US President Joe Biden, US President-elect Donald Trump and important businessmen such as Microsoft Founder Bill Gates, Carter’s funeral was taken to Georgia, where he lived, and buried next to his wife Rosalynn Carter, to whom he had been married for 77 years, in the town of Plains.
