US Cargo Ship Explodes off Baltimore

A coal-carrying cargo ship exploded off the coast of Baltimore, Maryland, sparking a fire that drew a major Coast Guard and firefighter response. All 23 crew members were evacuated safely with no injuries. The vessel was bound for Port Louis, Mauritius.

The blast comes months after a separate cargo ship collision caused the Francis Scott Key Bridge to collapse, killing six.
