Despite spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19), many street parties were held in the US as part of the New Year celebrations. The party events that took place in New York Times Square, which has become the symbol of the New Year celebrations, this year held with increased measures against COVID-19 pandemic. During celebrations, COVID-19 vaccines and masks were required for those who want to participate in the street parties. While traditionally attended by about 60 thousand people every year, this year 15 thousand people have attended to the street parties. “We want to show that we’re moving forward, and we want to show the world that New York City is fighting our way through this” New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said in his statement.
