The US claimed responsibility for the attack targeting a vehicle carrying Hezbollah Brigades commander Abu Baqir al-Saidi and his two bodyguards in Baghdad, the capital of Iraq, yesterday evening. U.S. Central Command stated that they had killed the commander for being directly responsible for planning and participating in attacks against U.S. forces and that they will continue to take necessary steps to ensure the safety of their people.
The US launched attacks against Hezbollah groups after Jordan lost three soldiers as a result of an attack on the US base on January 28.
