us company releases satellite images of greece wildfires

The US satellite company Maxar has published satellite images of the wildfires in the city of Alexandroupoli, near the Turkish border. The images that were heavily covered by dense smoke once again revealed the size of the fire.

At least 20 people died in the country, according to officials. A total of 150 people from three nursing homes were evacuated to hotels and different facilities in Menidi, a town in western Greece. In Fili, 14 kilometers northwest of Athens, houses and vehicles turned to ashes, and locals had to flee the flames on foot.
