The US military has announced the completion of its latest evening wave of airstrikes against military targets across Iran. According to US Central Command (CENTCOM), the operation was designed to degrade Iran’s ability to threaten commercial vessels and civilian mariners navigating the vital Strait of Hormuz. The strikes successfully hit military command centers, air defense systems, drone facilities, and coastal surveillance sites, with CENTCOM noting it “used precision-guided munitions to strike targets at multiple locations, including Bandar Abbas.” These evening operations followed an earlier 90-minute morning assault on coastal defense and cruise missile positions located on Greater Tunb Island.
