US Ambassador to Ankara and Special Representative for Syria Tom Barrack said the upcoming meeting between Türkiye’s President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and US President Donald Trump offers a chance to “bring all the threads together” amid Middle East turmoil.
Barrack noted that Washington is working to lift sanctions on Syria, including a possible repeal of the Caesar Act, to give the country “a chance.” He praised Türkiye as NATO’s strongest ally and “a center of regional stability,” stressing the importance of Erdoğan and Trump’s partnership.
