US new Ambassador to Turkey Jeffry Lane Flake and his wife Cheryl Flake, landed at Esenboğa Airport located in Ankara, capital city of Turkey. Ambassador Flake held a short media briefing in airport after his arrival. “Merhaba (Hello in Turkish). We are delighted to be here. This is my wife Cheryl and we are just arrived obviously. Will have more to say obviously after I credentialed but let me just say thank you for the warm welcome,” Flake said.
The new Ambassador Flake will replace David Satterfield, who has served as the US Ambassador to Turkey since August 2019. After presenting his credentials to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Flake will officially take up his duties.
