US Secretary of State Antony Blinken Faces Protests in Congress

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken was protested in the House of Representatives today, following a similar disruption in the Senate yesterday. During his speech before the House Appropriations Committee’s Foreign Operations and Related Programs Subcommittee, a pro-Palestine demonstrator interrupted, shouting, “The lies, greed, and hypocrisy of our democracy have been exposed. Freedom for Palestine for the freedom of all of us.”

The protester, who was detained by security, continued to shout, “All freedom struggles are interconnected. You need to arrest Blinken, not me.” Blinken paused his speech until the demonstrator was removed from the hall.
