US Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer called for early election in Israel, stating that the coalition led by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is a government stuck in the past and that it is no longer suitable for Israel’s needs after October 7.
“There needs to be a new discussion about Israel’s future after October 7. I think this can be best accomplished by holding an election,” Schumer said.
Schumer is known as the highest-ranking Jewish elected official in US history.
