NASA and the space transportation company SpaceX announced that the Falcon Heavy rocket carrying the US’s secret X-37B unmanned military space plane was launched into orbit. The spacecraft, mission of which has not been disclosed, is expected to return to Earth in June 2026 at the earliest.
The rocket was planned to be launched from the Kennedy Space Center three times before, but the mission was canceled due to adverse weather conditions and undisclosed technical problems.
