Severe storms, tornadoes, and floods that hit southern and midwestern USA have killed at least 24 people.
Tennessee reported 10 deaths, Kentucky 5 (including a 9-year-old), and Missouri 3, one of whom was a teenage firefighter. Arkansas and Georgia each confirmed 2 deaths, while Indiana and Mississippi reported one fatality each.
Flood warnings remain in effect for 9 million people as rivers continue to swell. Although rainfall is expected to ease, officials say floodwaters may take days or weeks to recede.
