USS George HW Bush aircraft carrier of US Navy on its way to Türkiye

After the earthquake disaster, the epicenter of which was Kahramanmaraş, the USA continues its support to Türkiye. US Department of Defense (Pentagon) Spokesperson Brigadier General Patrick Ryder said at a press conference, “First off, we are all watching with great sadness the terrible impact of the recent deadly earthquakes in Turkey” Ryder offered his condolences for those who lost their lives due to earthquakes in Turkey and Syria.
Explaining that the US forces at Incirlik Air Base started to move the first aid teams to the earthquake-affected areas, Ryder said that 2 civilian urban search and rescue teams were transferred from the US to Türkiye yesterday.

Stating that the US European Forces Command (USAID) has sent a team to support the disaster relief team, Ryder announced that the aid team is expected to be in Türkiye tomorrow. Expressing that USAID is actively working to quickly respond to new requests for support from Türkiye, Ryder said, “Again we offer our sincere condolences and we’ll stand with our ally Turkey as they work to save lives and recover from this horrific disaster”

Ryder also announced that the USS George HW Bush aircraft carrier in the Mediterranean is heading towards Türkiye. He stated that they were prepared to respond to Turkey’s requests for assistance as quickly as possible.
