A brutal Islamophobic attack at a Utah shopping center has left a Muslim employee in critical condition after being stabbed at least 15 times. Police report that 48-year-old Peter Michael Larsen approached the victim at the West Valley mall, asked about his religion, and violently attacked him with a knife as he turned to fetch water. Confirming his disturbing motive to authorities, Larsen bluntly stated, “I want to kill Muslims.” Bystanders quickly intervened to subdue the assailant until law enforcement arrived at the scene. Larsen is now being held at the Salt Lake County Jail, facing charges of attempted murder and illegal possession of a firearm.
