Organized for the second time this year to introduce Lake Van to the world, the Van Sea Swimming Festival in Türkiye’s Van province offered colorful scenes. On the last day of the festival, which started with a diving program microbialites on the first day, approximately 150 swimmers swam through a challenging four-hour course from Lake Van to Akdamar Island.
“As the municipality of a metropolitan , we value Lake Van. Apart from organizing festivals to introduce it to foreigners, we also carry out cleaning works to bring it clean to future generations,” said Ali Özvan, Deputy Secretary General of the Metropolitan Municipality.
