With the collapse of Syria’s Baath regime, economic conditions have improved, leading to a significant decline in vehicle prices and a surge in car sales. Prices that had peaked under the regime’s control have fallen dramatically in cities like Damascus and Idlib.
Abdullah Nana highlighted the change, noting, “A KIA Rio that was $27,000 is now $10,000. Sales are increasing daily as prices drop.” Similarly, Hisham Assad shared, “A car once priced at $40,000 is now between $6,000 and $10,000.”
Heysam Elbiyd emphasized the affordability, stating, “You can buy 10 cars now for the price of one before the regime’s fall.” The improved affordability reflects a broader economic recovery in post-regime Syria.
