Venezuela released 6 US prisoners following a meeting between US President Donald Trump’s Special Representative Richard Grenell and Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.
“We reached the first agreements. When these are adhered to, there will be new ones. We hope there will be new agreements that will be good for both countries and the region. President Donald Trump, we took the first step. I hope it continues. We want it to continue,” Maduro later stated at a program after the meeting.
Venezuelan authorities previously announced that at least 9 Americans, most of whom have been accused of terrorism, are being held in their country.
