volcanic ash covers part of la palma island

Cumbre Vieja Volcano on La Palma has been spewing ash and lava since September 19. The intense eruptions caused volcanic ashfall in the southwest of the island. Households in the village of La Mancha were completely covered in ash, while ash hills were formed on the streets. Spanish Ministry of Defense reported that the Military Emergency Teams (UME) continue cleaning up efforts on the island, and helping the residents in need. Authorities warned citizens about poisoning due to ashfall.
