Volcano in Iceland’s Grindavik Town Erupts

A volcano located in the Grindavik town on Iceland’s Reykjanes Peninsula erupted today, spewing lava and ash meters high. The Civil Defense Organization assigned a coast guard helicopter to observe the area.

The volcano erupted last month due to multiple earthquakes that occurred over a couple of weeks and caused 4,000 people living nearby to be evacuated.
