Volcano on Reykjanes Peninsula Erupts in Iceland

A new eruption occurred yesterday at 21:26 local time on the volcano on Iceland’s Reykjanes Peninsula. As lava erupting from the volcano began to spread, locals evacuated the town of Grindavik.

The Icelandic Meteorological Office announced that minor tremors were experienced due to the eruption and that a magnitude 4.0 earthquake occurred at 22:37.
