A firefighting team that was formed during the forest fire that started in Marmaris, Turkey, last summer is actively working in the forest fire area today. Volunteers, who came together right after the fire started, intervened in the ongoing flames and helped the fire extinguishers.
Volunteers work in the fire zone using the system they developed among themselves while risking their lives to try to put out the fires in the forest. After finishing their work, volunteers can sleep and rest on the stone and soil ground in the assembly area. They resume to work where they left off after their break.
Soner Kasap, a member of the team, said, “We have been supporting the efforts since last night. We are on the field and we continue helping firefighters.”
