In Finland, the Scandinavian country that is expected to join NATO in the coming days, the public has been going to the polls since 9:00 local time to determine the members of the 200-seat parliament. The Finnish Social Democratic Party of the current Prime Minister Sanna Marin, the National Coalition Party led by Petteri Orpo, and the True Finns Party led by Riikka Purra come to the fore in the election.
The ballot boxes will close at 20:00, and the unofficial results are expected to be announced before midnight.
