Citizens of four European Union member countries—Italy, Slovakia, Latvia, and Malta—are heading to the polls today to elect their members in the European Parliament.

Twenty other member countries, including Germany, France, and Poland, will cast their votes on Sunday, which will be the fourth and last day of the election.
