An unexploded wartime bomb was discovered during demolition work on the Kasumi Campus of Hiroshima University, Japan. Police confirmed the object, found around 10:20 a.m. local time, measured 90 cm in length and 25 cm in diameter.
Authorities secured the area and canceled afternoon classes as a precaution. Hiroshima University Hospital on the same campus remained operational. Japan’s Self-Defense Forces dispatched a bomb disposal team to the site.
