wild goats population enlivens in Kayseri, Türkiye

The number of wild goats in Kayseri, Türkiye, which faced the risk of regional extinction with a population of 28, reached 1,652 in 2022 thanks to the studies and measures taken by the Nature Conservation and National Parks Branch Directorate. With trainings given to hunters and the prevention of poaching with the necessary controls, the magnificent species unfearfully maintain their lives in their natural habitats.

“Following the the notifications we received from 112 and all our personnel on illegal hunting, a total of 350 thousand administrative fines were imposed on 12 people in the past year. We want our citizens, who are interested in hunting, to attend the courses and get their documents first. Participation in the courses is not enough, one has to follow some rules when going out on the field. We explain this to them extensively in our courses. We warn them to be complier hunters, to obey the limits, to help our friends who come for inspection,” says Harun Dindar, Kayseri Nature Conservation and National Parks Director.
